What’s Changed for 2027?
The CSCA Exam is Now Mandatory
For the 2026/27 academic cycle, undergraduate applicants face a new CSCA requirement under the applicable international admissions rules, while visa and document requirements continue to vary by program and applicant circumstances. If you want to study in China in 2027, you must take the CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) exam.
Students need to consider this requirement as mandatory in 2026-27. Without a CSCA score, you won’t be able to apply anymore due to sending incomplete applications.
It tests academic competency and guides institutions to evaluate students based on CSCA scores as a metric for making their decisions.
Who needs it? All undergraduate applicants to CSC universities. Master’s and doctoral applicants are currently exempt. And it is offered several times per year, from January to December.
